Many of these monsters tend to be floodgates that limit player options Inspector Boarder still prevents monster effects from being activated, Thunder King Rai-Oh (not counting its Special Summon negation) still prevents searches, Denko Sekka still prevents Set Spells/Traps from being used, each Barrier Statue card still prevents Special Summons of a specific Attribute, and so on
Of course, if you fail to match the coin toss, you can say that defeat is almost certain
