A cloth covers the mouth and nose; a glass of beer is held. Tram tracks, a passing tram, and overhead cables structure the background. The city continues to move as the figures action remains on hold. Everyday closeness is present, execution withheld. The paper cut depicts a state of pause,where ritual and reality no longer coincide. Cut from lightfast paper. Unframed. 105 35 cm.
